So it’s my first attempt at growing food, besides herbs. I’ve got these little guys all over my kitchen and I’m not so sure what to do. I know I need to transplant them but I’m kind of nervous about the whole process. I’ve got the containers and soil on the porch. I’m just not sure what to do if there is a freak snow storm which in Utah isn’t unlikely. errr. I’m sure the little seedlings are super crowded. And I’ve got these zucc’s starting to grow and no trellis ready for them. I’m not sure what point they’ll need the support but I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to be too cold. Right now they’re living on my kitchen counter. Any one have suggestions? I’m not sure why I’m so anxious about the transplanting/separating process but I am. I guess I just need to do it maybe tomorrow. After all they’re in containers right? Worse comes to worse and I just have plants all over my house.

Before you transplant them outdoors, it’s a good idea to acclimate them to their new home outside. You can do this by putting them outside in a sheltered area for a little while during the day, then bringing them back in at night. Each day you can extend the amount of they are outside, and after about a week they should be able to take a full day in the sun. There’s some helpful tips here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=2&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ehow.com%2Fhow_12178_transplant-seedlings.html&ei=L-P2SeSTJIqeMqb80bYP&usg=AFQjCNE4Wf9q8Dpw1aQwkr6CXXIh5ufk2g&sig2=IyIpOdgVlsmhWUeNMa1c2Q
Good luck!

I’ve been letting them hang out in the sun outdoors so I think they should be good on that front, thanks so much for the website I’ll have to check it out when I get back from teaching (woohoo it’s the final)
