Is there anything better than fall of the bones ribs? How about a crock pot recipe with just 3 ingredients that tastes amazing. I love serving this with some fresh corn and basil butter or roasted rosemary potatoes!
Now updated with how to cook ribs in the Instant Pot. Instant Pot ribs are just as easy and yummy as slow cooker ribs but get finished much faster.
This low maintenance easy peasy slow cooker recipe is one of my all time favorites. I love coming home to a slow cooked meal with the home smelling delicious from cooking all day but if you want to speed things up you can even make it in the Instant Pot.
You pretty much throw everything in the crock pot and and you get some of the best ribs you have ever tastes.
It’s also super versatile since you can easily change up the flavor by changing your sauce at the very last step.
World’s Best Crock Pot BBQ Ribs Recipe
This recipe is so yummy and easy. With just a few ingredients most of which are pantry staples!
Slow Cooker Ribs Ingredients
I’ve tried this will all different types of bottled BBQ sauce. It works great with so many flavors. Just pick whatever type of sauce your family likes I’m sure it will be delish.
- 3 1/2 lbs Ribs
- 1/2 C Water
- 2/3 C BBQ Sauce (plus more for serving if desired)
- Salt and Pepper to taste (but I like to use 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper)
How to Make Slow Cooker Ribs
Basically just throw it all in the crock pot, cook, top with sauce and let it soak in and voila you’re left with the yummiest ribs ever.
- Cut the ribs into 2 or 3 rib portions.
- Place ribs into crock pot, sprinkle with salt and pepper and top with the water.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Drain any excess liquid.
- Cover with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook for an additional hour. I gently stir or spread the sauce onto the ribs to fully to get the sauce evenly distributed.
- Serve with extra sauce if desired
I usually use a sugar based cheap grocery store BBQ sauce and this turns out fantastic.
But I have been doing Whole 30 and I’m planning on making these later this week with a cherry BBQ sauce that doesn’t any any added sugar.
If it turns out good I’ll definitely share the recipe for that! Until then I love this delicious cherry beef recipe for the slow cooker!
Instant Pot Ribs Directions
Can you make this BBQ rib recipe in the Instant Pot? Absolutely! To save time you can make this with your electric pressure cooker and it will be done in just over an hour.
To cook the ribs in the pressure cooker put 1.5 cup water in the bottom of your liner. Add the ribs onto a trivet. You may need to cut them into portions season with the salt and pepper and cook on high for 45 minutes.
Allow for at least a 15 minute NPR. Smother with BBQ sauce and serve.
If you like that broiled finish feel you can place the ribs in an oven safe dish, pop them under the broiler or use a crisper lid or air fryer attachment to broil it a bit. Either way make sure to pay attention since it can burn quickly.
