- Glitch by Heather Anastasiu – A fun dystopian with sci-fi elements. I really enjoyed this, adults controlled by the government to be mindless drones and kids with powers fighting back to avoid the same fate. See my full Glitch review.
- Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini – I’ve found that I’ve developed quite a taste for Greek mythology inspired tales and this is no exception. A story about a girl who discovers her powers, a fun family with abilities of their own, and some good teen romance and drama. Also possibly the best “coming out about your powers to your best friend” scene ever!
- Die for Me by Amy Plum – Some good solid paranormal romance in this one. It reminded me, in a good way of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter books mixed with a bit of Anna and the French Kiss. I’ll definitely be continuing the series. Good mild paranormal bits, with contemporary romance, and some fighting which we all know I love.
- Deity by Jennifer Armentrout – All my apprehensions with how the Covenant series started have flown out the window because the direction and story it went to in Deity are awesome, original and super fun. I love the characters, the dialogue the stories. So much fun. Sassy kick butt heroine with some steamy romance and awesome fighting.
- Reached by Ally Condie – The last book in the Matched series and possibly my favorite. I really enjoyed how the story all came together. I felt like each of the characters were challenged and became better and stronger and more admirable. A good finish. Great for dystopian lovers.
- Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan – Finally this Heroes of Olympus series has made a positive turn. The last book kind of had me a bit bored. I mean I liked it but when all the awesome characters are split up you get a bit bored. In this book all the old and new characters come together and it’s awesome. It was super fun to see two very different but wonderful heros side by side.
What have you been reading? Really I love hearing what everyone has been reading I think talking about books might be one of my favorite things so let me know :) I’m super excited about the series I’m currently reading and can’t wait to share it with you guys when I finish it!

I’m so glad you liked Glitch! I really loved that one when I read it last year. I’ve heard mixed things about Starcrossed, and have put off reading it, but since you enjoyed it I think I’ll have to pick it up sooner than I intended to XD
As for me, I just finished Pivot Point by Kasie West (awesome!), and I’m currently reading both A Clash of Kings and Out of Easy by Ruta Sepetys.

I will add these to my list. I have having trouble with Reached. I am kind of bored. Does it get more exciting?

Amber: I know I feel like there was so much hype with Glitch before it came out and then crickets. I’ll have to look into those others you mentioned
Debra: hmmm I don’t remember it taking me long to get into. I think these books are a bit weird I’ve never heard such differing opinions on a series and even different books within the series

My girlfriends and I take turns hosting a “Books made into Movies Club” on the last Friday of every month. The host for the month picks a book to read…then we get together to watch the movie…and after which we sit, talk about and compare our thoughts regarding the book vs the movie…tons of fun and makes for great conversation. I look forward to hearing more about your book/movie club idea:D My last read was Nicholas Sparks The Lucky One…both a good book and a good movie :D

Now I’ll add a few mores to my list, thanks! I just finished Reached (and the 2 previous books). I got them for Christmas and tore through them. Thanks for the recommendation! Right now I’m finishing up another Artemis Fowl book. I really appreciate the time you put into keeping us informed about your reading. I’ve been introduced to some really awesome characters thanks to you! :)

I’m trying SO. HARD. to read “Code Name: Verity” right now. I’m having a really difficult time getting into it though. Which makes me feel guilty for two reasons:
1 – everyone who’s read it, swears that it’s amazing
and
2 – it’s WWII and I love reading/studying ANYTHING WWII.
I just don’t know what to do with myself…
marissa | Rae Gun Ramblings says
oh shot sandi don’t say that Code name verity is on my I’ve got to read asap list and arrrrrg!
Dawn that makes me smile so big seriously so encouraging. I took a break from Artemis Fowl but I really enjoyed the ones I read I think I need to pick back up and see what he’s been up to

I’ve read Glitch (which I loved!) and all of the rest are on my TBR list (which is massive). Going to add you on Goodreads right now :) I’m currently reading Four to Score – Janet Evanovich and A Clash of Kings – George R.R. Martin. It’s really strange that I’m not knee deep into a YA book or two, as it’s my preferred genre.
