I had a whole long post about last year and this year and all that jazz but really when it comes down to it this year I want to take time to Savor things. Whether it’s the tiny details of the people I love like the Shatter Me quote above, or time spent together, or a delicious meal, I want to really savor it. I feel like in recent years it’s been more about getting through it, building it, and finding it but today even though my life looks vastly different than I had planned for me I am quite happy and I want to make sure to savor that.
And being the planner list maker you know that I am I do have a few resolutions or practical ways I want to savor life.
For the Blog
I want to get to know you all better. I love making the posts and documenting my creations, but most of all I love sharing it with all of you. I would love to meet even more of you in person, have wonderful comment and email chats and just build deeper, more meaningful relationships with you. I have two exciting things I think will help with this goal.
- First every last Saturday of the month I will be hosting an About Me party. Where I will have a theme and I will share a few things about me and I’d love you all to share about you. Just post an about me post any time during the month on the theme and link up. And if you’re not a blogger I’d love you to share your list in the comments section that day! Stay tuned I’ll be sharing the first few months of themes and a shinny new button soon
- The second fun thing is that I want to start a book/movie club of sorts. With so many fun readers, new books, and awesome movies being made from some of my favorite books this year I think it would be fun to geek out together. More about this and a survey to help me shape this to come. If you want to make sure you don’t miss out let me know you want to be on the book club mailing list in the comments.
For Fitness
This last year I went back to a bunch of bad habits. Gained back some weight blah blah blah. I’ve found that I need to log my workouts and food. Just the little act of writing it down, or knowing I’ll have to write it down keeps me from eating meh food and wasting my time. In other words it helps me savor what I eat and how I use my body.
For Friends and Family
It’s no secret that I’m a multitasking addict. I watch my favorite shows while editing blog posts, sew while interacting with my nieces, and have even been known to read while walking. Some of that is fine but I want to savor the little moments with friends and family more. Just be there doing that one thing. Take it in, really experience it and savor the moment.

I definitely want to be a part of your bookclub! I already follow you on goodreads, and we have very similar taste. My friend and I are starting a blog about books too, we teach high school English together. I’m excited!

I LOVE ALL OF YOUR PLANS! I most definitely want to be on your mailing list for the book/movie club.
And I can COMPLETELY relate to your last goal. I told myself that when my husband comes home from Afghanistan in July, I have GOT to stop and enjoy every moment.

Savor is my word, too! I’ve incorporated it into my dinette decor. Take a peek: http://dejongdreamhouse.blogspot.com/2012/11/diy-dinette-decor.html
