These girls never cease to amaze me. They are already craft-a-holics although they they call it “making craps”. They were obsessed with making necklaces after my friend Linda made one on Harry Potter craft day. So, the next time the nieces were over and needed some occupying I set them up with the bead box and gigantic needles.
Now I wasn’t sure if this activity was going to be a keep them busy sort of thing or keep me totally involved thing.
Actually I was fully expecting L to need lots of help but I always try and make them do things themselves first. After some hand over hand direction both picked it up and loved it quite quickly. And I know I’m really lax with the girls using pins and needles but really these giant ones aren’t very sharp at all and they were really good about not doing anything scary with them. I definitely recommend this to any one with kiddos to occupy maybe over the holidays.

Another good way to do “stringing beads” is on pipe cleaner. Joel was able to do this even a little before 2 because the pipe is stiff, so it doesn’t move around and then you just twist it shut to make it into a bracelet or “ornament”.
