I recently had the pleasure of making a blessing dress for my friend Jessica’s baby. It was a fun project since Jessica was always my relief at the philosophy department and it was something I’d never done. She presented me with a pillowcase that had belonged to her grandmother and a couple pattern ideas. I based the dress off of Simplicity pattern 3509. But I lined it and put it together quite differently. I have to admit it was a bit stressful working with fabric that if I screwed up I couldn’t just go get more from my stash or the store, but it was really fun. And I’m super happy with how it turned out. Look how freaking cute she is with my little dress and with a little head band her mama crocheted. By the way Jessica makes the cutest crocheted head gear for kids and adults. Check her shop out here and her blog out here. Anyways I just wanted to share this fun project.
And speaking of projects, I’ve got a little something up my sleeve planned for the blog. I’ve just been loving making special little things for my nieces and I’ve been really motivated to try something a little new that will be fun for all of us. That’s all I’m going to say right now but tune in later this week and I’ll make my big announcement.
