Bottoms Up Pants Pattern Review

I didn’t write out any formal resolutions or goals this year but one thing I do want to do is make something for me and something for Teddy each month. I’m excited to already be able to check off Teddy’s creation for the month. Are these pants not the cutest in the world?

My husband is totally go with the flow with most thinks I make, but these pants I could just tell he really liked them. When it was time to wash them he kept on asking if it was okay to wash them normally because he didn’t want to mess him up. After he nervously asked for the 3rd time if I was sure I said if they get messed up (which I did not think was an option) I can just make another pair. And he said, “But this pair is perfect!” Warms my cockles.

I made them with If Only Designs awesome Bottoms Up pattern. I am in love with the pattern. It’s so so speedy and the fit is just darling. I made Teddy the 12 month size since he’s starting to grow out of his 9 month things. These fit great and have a little room to grow.There are a bunch of pocket options (or no pockets) and of course I wanted to add my own little flair hence the bird.

The little bird pops out but it’s attached so you don’t have to worry about losing it. I love how the front of the pants are flat but it’s still elastic in the back. Including the bird addition it took me less than an hour to make these. I know I’m a fast sew-er but still that’s a pretty quick project. These are simple enough and the directions are super easy to follow that I think a patient beginner could pull them off no problem.
