It’s baby shower week here. My very good friend is having her first baby soon and the shower is this weekend. To celebrate I’m giving away a set that I think would make a splendid baby shower gift but feel free to keep it for yourself ;) . This is my newest creation (yeah yeah I know, now that I’m in the house I really need to make more new goodies, it’s on the list). But I absolutely love the yellow and grey combo, I think it’s perfectly girly without contributing to the flood of pink that I know mama’s of new baby girls experience. Anyways I have onesies that go up to 24 months. I’ll base the size on the onesies sizes since my bottoms fit more of a range. So you can chose from 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 12 months, 18 months or 24 months. I’ll add both of these items to my shop when I find a moment.
(p.s. do you guys think people would buy sets if I listed them together in my shop? I will for sure list the ruffle bottoms by themselves but I’m going back and forth between whether I should list the onesies as stand alone, or sets, or both. Anyways if you have any thoughts on that I’d love to hear them.)

My best advice is to take it one day at a time. Some days it will seem hopeless and it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but nothing will last forever! Enjoy the little baby phase because it will be over before you know it!

My best advice would be to pay attention. I know it seems simple/silly, but honestly if you pay attention to them, they know they’re loved, they know you care. It’s amazing to see my daughter change every day and grow into this amazing little girl.
I LOVE this set, by-the-way. Also, I would sell them as a set, in addition to the diaper cover separately.
Heidi says
I LOVE the diaper cover! Great color combo!
I love the advice and look forward to reading more. :)

My new mommy advice would be to have help!! The first few weeks can be difficult and the more help you have lined up the better for you. I would get this set up before the baby comes, so that when you get home with your new little bundle you won’t have to worry about it. Also sleep whenever you can, being sleep deprived makes everything seem so much more difficult! Enjoy your baby and congratulations.

Best Advice: Get as much sleep as you possibly can. Even if you think after three months or so you’re doing okay, you still have the. rest. of. your. life. with a little demanding one :)

SO CUTE!! Your diaper covers are so cute! Love them.
My best advice: You are a mother now and have been given the gift of “motherly instincts,” always do what you feel is best for you and your child. You mother and mother-in-law had babies 25+ years ago some things they DO FORGET!!
Best of luck to Heidi and her new baby. She is very lucky to have such a creative friend.

Advice: Be aware that sleep deprivation makes you weird. You believe you’re thinking clearly, but you’re not. Be warned! Take lots of pictures. Try to actually write down the moments where you think “How can I ever forget . . . ?” because you will forget since there’s always something new and wonderful.
(I love the yellow/grey combo!)

best advice.. is to breathe. I had my 4 year old take deep breaths during a tantrum and he forgot what he was upset about and it ended with a hug!

(BTW Awnsering your question about selling your products in sets maybe you should offer a discounted price if a buyer were to buy the two items to complete a set. But list them separately..Hopefully that made sense.)

I am a new follower! I actually came to your site after you left a comment on my blog – Warren Peace – about our marshmallows :) and I was curious to see if I knew you or could figure out how you found my blog…anyway, I ended up at your etsy site which I love! The diaper covers are so cute!! And your little girl is a doll! So, thanks for coming by my site, so that I could find yours!

My best advice is to take all advice with a grain of salt. You will get conflicting advice from your dr, nurse, aunt, grandma, mom, co-workers, friends, neighbors, and well-meaning ladies at the grocery store. YOU are the only one who knows the very best thing for your baby – that’s why God entrusted her to you. Learn what you can, smile and nod, and make the choices that work the best for you and your baby!
Hayley says
I just noticed that it says to leave an additional comment about being a first time follower, so here it is! By the way, I think things sell well when combined and at a little discount – I’m sucker for spending more when I feel like it’s a better deal! My husband groans at all the money I save by buying more! :) That outfit would be just precious for my baby girl or a sweet friend who will be having her baby in a couple of weeks! Thanks for the chance to win it!
Jessica says
Sets are a great idea! Maya would be adorable in this one :) I’m getting sick of pink and purple and have been looking for other colors for this spring/summer.
My advice is to relax. Don’t worry about all the do’s and don’ts. Do what feels natural for you and your baby.

My best advice is to expect the unexpected. With my first child, I thought breastfeeding and staying home (used to work full-time) would be super easy! It wasn’t. I love being a mommy, but just be prepared for anything and everything!

Advice for the new mom “after you give birth” be sure to do pelvic stretching and strengthening exercises even if you think you feel fine. Our pelvis is the most ignore part of the anatomy and we need to care for it. Over 15 million people (80%) woman suffer with pelvic disorders.

My best advice is to listen to your heart. Doctors, parents, friends may tell you one thing, but it’s that mother’s instinct that matters the most.

I believe that it is different for every new mother. I think that a lot of ways we have are ones that have been passed down from our mother, grandmother, etc. Find someone you are comfortable with either staying over or taking new baby for a night to let you have some relief. My advice is not to have baby gone any longer than that because you will go crazy. I think it is important to use your instincts. They are usually right. Don’t exclude yourself from hanging out with friends, you will need them to keep you level headed. Sometimes as much as we love our new baby we as mommies need a break every now and then. Also, Spend as much time with them as possible while they are little, they grow up fast. Get a video camera and make weekly or monthly enries as to what stage your baby is in. When they get a little older they are precious to watch. Get out of the house with your baby. If it is cold, go somewhere indoors. If it is warm, go for walks, go to the park and read….these will be memories that you will treasure forever :)

My advice is this: SWADDLE! (Read the book Happiest Baby on the Block for great swaddling tips)
Also, the days are often loooong, but the weeks go so very fast-so try not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment: the tineyness, the little squeeks and coos, sleep smiles…
