Super Bowl Food Ideas
Finger foods like those you find at Super Bowl parties are by far my favorite type of food. While all these recipes are great for game day eating and hosting, you could also serve them up with a simple salad and have a ton of easy dinner ideas!
Top 10 Super Bowl Foods
My ultimate game day food table would be a well rounded selection of snacks, heartier bites, and a big veggie tray to balance out the other less healthy options. I can’t limit my list to just 10 Super Bowl recipes but I can tell you the top 10 types of foods I’d include on my Game Day table.
- Chips and Dip for me this is a MUST for me. And by must, I mean we must have a bunch of different chip and dip options.
- High Protein Super Bowl Recipes think buffalo wings, meatballs in the crock pot, hot dogs or little sausages, cocktail shrimp you get it. Unless you’re not meat people I’m a fan of having a primarily meat option or two. If you aren’t meat people there are so many plant based protein options.
- Veggies if only for a pallet cleanser I firmly believe in having lots of easy to much raw or cooked vegetables available. Pair it with some kind of dip for pickier eaters but you’d be surprised at how people crave the break. Even a delicious salad or make your own salad bar is a great way to keep the fun food from taking over.
- Crock Pot Party Recipes work smarter not harder! It’s so nice to have slower cookers do the heavy lifting, plus then you also have the option of hot food that stays hot so people can eat on their own schedules. I love this multipot slow cooker, it’s so nice to use for get-togethers.
- Kid Friendly Food even if you won’t have tons of kids around consider things for the pickier pallets. If you are spice lover make sure to have an option or two that isn’t full of heat. Also consider potential messes. People may be moving around and helping themselves do you really want chili sloshed all over or would it be better to have chili cheese pigs in a blanket.
- Vegan Super Bowl Food whether you have guests who don’t eat animal products or not, think about having some vegan options. It’s as simple as reading a label lots of the time and with increasing allergies and sensitivities it’s nice to have some dishes that you can easily say, that’s dairy free or no eggs in that one.
- Gluten Free Super Bowl Food the number of people with celiacs or other gluten sensitivities seems to be growing. A lot of of classic appetizers can easily be made gluten free just with a little awareness.
- Super Bowl Desserts trust me one of my favorite parts of game day food are that they feed my savory tastesbuds but it’s always nice to have some sweet treats, you know so you can cram in even more salt.
- Drinks don’t forget something to wash down all these tasty treats with. Even if you ask the guests to bring some beverages consider some back up non-alcoholic options too.
- Freezer Friendly I am a firm believer of having more food and not too little food. That being said, I really try to pick dishes I both enjoy (would be fine stuck with if they don’t get eating) and that will freeze well. If something doesn’t get eating there’s only so much you can (or want to) eat over the next week. So many recipes can be frozen and pulled out later.
Be sure to keep reading for more details, creative versions of these must have party foods, and of course all the recipes!
